Woven with a cottolin (cotton. + linen) warp and a line linen weft in a straight twill pattern.

The bright colors are softened by the linen weft, but pop bright again when wet, and softening again when dry. Lightweight but absorbent, they dry so crazy quickly!

Towels will soften over time with use to get that nice linen bounce.

Although sizes of finished towels vary slightly they generally measure around 50” x 29”

I want to share why these towels are a ritual piece for me.

Baths, being in warm water, is ritual to me. It is a practice that has brought me so many experiences of coming back to center. I realized one day that I don’t have to just lay in a bath like a boring ass culturally conditioned and exhausted adult. I could play. It started off, many years ago now, conjuring what it had been like to be a kid in the bath. I didn’t worry about getting water on the floor, I started splashing. From then on, baths became a place to play, explore, be me, a place to come back to me, whatever was there to be seen at that time. I explored the sensual, eating juicy fruits in the bath and letting the juice drip without wiping it away. I move my body, I stretch, I sing, I cry, sometimes I eat dinner..or breakfast.. in the bath. Each time the container is the same, the acts within the ritual change, evolve, alter/altar for what’s there at that time, what’s needed.

For the last year I have lived in a place without a bathtub and the difference is immensely noticeable. I started weaving these bath towels with my own ritual baths in mind. Although I get out of a shower rather than a bathtub, the towel has become a connection to me for keeping a thread of what’s conjured, in me, through baths, for me.
